I’ve been pretty busy making things the last few days, so I thought I’d condense it all down into one post.
I got a bag of assorted yarn at the thrift shop the other day, and when I got home the U-Nitt needles I ordered had arrived. The size 1 and 2 needles feel pretty flimsy, but the 3 and ups are sturdy enough and the texture is decent, and it’s a good price to have all general sizes on hand.
It’s been fun knitting with smaller needles for the first time, and I can see how some people get so addicted to knitting for dolls (though keeping tension consistent at these gauges is a lot harder). I haven’t been knitting very much since I’ve had other projects (and work), but I slightly modified the popular Lati Yellow Dress pattern into a heavy shirt/short-sleeved jacket for Littlefee and other 30 cm dolls. I used Schachenmayr Nomotta Viola yarn on US size 2 needles.
I’m currently working on a doll vest pattern and should have that and pictures soon.
In somewhat unrelated news, my friend brought over her new kitten, and she got into my yarn stash. It was adorable.
I haven’t done much pixel dolling, but I was recently inspired and made two dolls of my character Naia. She’s a warrior from a race of elves called the Zhoke (the less politically correct term is “Shadow Elves”), and I drew her in her daily wear as well as full armor.

Our Whisper is mostly painted now, partially put back together and has a motherboard! We’re going with a black and purple theme using Valspar paints, and the motherboard is an EVGA P55 FTW Edition. I’ll do a full post with more details once we get a little more done.
We (being myself and my boyfriend, TJ) just ordered the case for my first computer build. We’ve been planning to do this together for a while now, and it’s exciting to finally be getting started on it. After looking at several cases, weighing style, price, and functionality, and discussing the look and theme we would have, we decided on the NZXT Whisper. It’s ultra-quiet, large enough to use as a server case if we choose to re-purpose it in the future, good quality and not too expensive, and has a clean, sleek look.
We’re waiting until we have the case in-hand to decide on our theme, which will determine a lot of what we will do, but here’s a preliminary list of what we’ll be doing to it, in no particular order:
- replace stock fans and add 3-4 additional cooling fans
- paint inside and outside of case
- potentially replace soundproof foam
- cut out side window
- remove extra drive cages
- replace perforated front bezel (depending on construction)
- potentially reshape the door
- replace front LEDs, add internal lighting
